What Does Psychology Offer? (Christians & Psychology #3)
Wednesday May 11, 2022
Wednesday May 11, 2022
Psychology promises us freedom from something. But can something based on a secular worldview ever hope to care for our souls? This episode takes an honest look at what good psychology offers, where it turns our focus, and why Christians may need to make a difficult choice about where they turn.

Natural Interpretations, Natural Solutions (Christians & Psychology #2)
Wednesday May 04, 2022
Wednesday May 04, 2022
Can we really blend psychology with Christianity when they both start from very different assumptions about the world? In this episode I look at what psychology believes, how that affects who psychologists interpret information, and how that impacts the solutions they offer.

My Introduction to Psychology (Christians & Psychology #1)
Wednesday Apr 27, 2022
Wednesday Apr 27, 2022
Christians know we suffer more than just physically. But does that mean we should see a psychologist for our minds the same way we'd see a doctor for our bodies? This episode lays a foundation for a lengthy discussion about whether psychology and Christianity are compatible. I discuss why it's important for Christians to think about this, share my experiences, and end with an overview of what psychology actually is and what psychologists want to do for their patients.

Intelligence Is Not the Same As Wisdom
Wednesday Apr 20, 2022
Wednesday Apr 20, 2022
"I want to grow in wisdom, but I'm just not smart enough." This is a statement too many Christians have said, and in this episode I want to do away with this kind of thinking. Wisdom and intelligence are different, and understanding that removes a barrier that keeps us from growing closer to God.

Was Mary Magdalene a Prostitute?
Wednesday Apr 13, 2022
Wednesday Apr 13, 2022
An important character in the story of Christ's resurrection is often accused of being a former prostitute. This episode looks at what the Bible really tells us about Mary Magdalene, as well as how long-standing traditions can warp how we read God's word.

3 (Bad) Reasons You Aren’t Getting Baptized
Wednesday Apr 06, 2022
Wednesday Apr 06, 2022
Just because baptism isn't required for salvation doesn't mean it's not expected after salvation. There are many Christians who haven't yet been baptized, yet God's word has no hint that baptism is meant to be done months, or even years, after someone is saved. This episode looks at three common reasons a Christian hasn't been baptized and challenges listeners to walk in obedience to what God expects His children to do.

Don’t Waste Your Temptation
Wednesday Mar 30, 2022
Wednesday Mar 30, 2022
No one gets excited about being tempted to sin. However, we often approach it with the idea that we just need to survive long enough to resist it. Sometimes we succeed, oftentimes we don’t. However, when the temptation passes, we know it won't be long before it returns.
In this episode, I discuss what temptation is, where it comes from, and how we can be thankful for it when we let it drive us closer to Jesus Christ.

Do Babies Go to Heaven?
Wednesday Mar 23, 2022
Wednesday Mar 23, 2022
The death of a child is painful for everyone involved. As Christians, we know that this life isn't all there is. That often leads us to wonder what happens to babies or children who die before understanding the gospel. This episode seeks to gently discuss a painful subject by pointing us to God's word and delivering hope to one of the most painful situations imaginable.

Disney’s Destructive Worldview
Wednesday Mar 09, 2022
Wednesday Mar 09, 2022
Disney movies are a staple for most families. However, despite the positive messages, they can negatively impact our kids' worldviews. This episode explores how Disney and others children's media know their audience so well that they make money by killing parents or making heroes fight against them.

Questions worth asking:
- Who's the villain? Who are we supposed to not like or agree with?
- Why?
- Why did the writers make the villain do those things?
- What is the movie encouraging kids to do?
- Does it encourage you to obey God's word?
- Eph 6:2 reminds us of the command in Exodus 20:12
- Honor your father and mother…
- More than that, Christian children doing it with joy as God's people
- Do all things without grumbling or disputing, 15 that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world (Philippians 2:14-15)
- Eph 6:2 reminds us of the command in Exodus 20:12
- If they see things they need to reject, can they find redeeming things worth praising?
- Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. (Philippians 4:8)

Scripture and Tradition (Part 2)
Wednesday Mar 02, 2022
Wednesday Mar 02, 2022
This episode explains what we mean by Sola Scriptura, as well as some errors we can still fall in to if we aren't careful.
I teach a theology program at church with Pastor Chris Lenoir, and we were recently locked out of our building and unable to have class. We recorded a conversation-style lesson about the sufficiency of Scripture, which I'm also uploading here. If you'd like to see the PowePoint presentation, you can also watch this on his YouTube channel by clicking here.
